So this is a little late but better late then never. :) I can't believe the kids are already in 1st and 5th grade. The boys have been back at school now for several weeks. They are both loving school and excited to go back each day. We have been so busy since school started with the boys activities. They are both playing sports and Jared is still in Boy Scouts. We have 1 football player and 1basketball player this season. Who knows what spring will look like! :)

Wow! What a Huge accomplishment! This is the forth year in a row that Jared has made the Straight A Honor Roll. :) Jared has 2 years left at Grace Hartman and he has already set the bar so high for himself. I know with his strong will and dedication he can make it possible! :)

Happy Father's Day to my wonderful hubby & the best step dad a girl could have! We love you! :)
After a HeCtiC Saturday we opted for a very relaxing Sunday. Jon started his "day" out by going to the gun range with his uncle and had a really good time. (NO pictures! Boo!) And then we took my step dad to Outback Steakhouse and ended the day swimming at my parents house. I should have gotten the camera out of the car and taken some pic's of the very intense water volleyball game with the kids, Jon and Jim but they were "smiled out" from the wedding on Sat.

Jon's little sister Angela got married on 6-18-11 and I couldn't wait to see my boys dressed up.... They looked SO handsome! Although they weren't thrilled to be wearing "pink", they were such good sports about it. They even "agreed" to wear black converse with pink shoe laces at the reception. I know I say this all the time but...... I am going to say it again. I feel SO truly blessed to be able to go to all of my kiddo's school functions.

It is so hard to get a 4th grader involved in class games.... But the kids loved all the games that the home room mom came up with. They did such a good job cheering each other on and had a ton of fun.

Class Picture Day~ 3-9-11

I forgot to get a picture of them before school, so we did this one right after they got home. Hence, that is the reason puppy made his debut. Class pictures were taken at school and mom had gotten the boys these cute little shirts, so I took advantage and dressed them alike.

(Mom actually got all the boys these shirts.... So my sweet little nephews have their shirt waiting for their summer arrival.... And I know Tricia will LOVE the maroon! Gig'em!)

Twin Day~ 3-22-11 I used to always dress the boys alike, however, I can't seem to get away with it any longer. Unless of course it is a "designated day" or something special. And then I still have to bargin with them but in the end it is worth it. :) I'm starting to notice a trend with Jared..... He loves to take the opportunity to "hug" his brother. haha Yeah right! He is taking full advantage of Jake still being half asleep and not realizing that he is just trying to get him fired up.

I'm not sure who loves these fun days at school more.... I think I love getting him ready as much as he loves going to school all dressed up. He kept saying, "I have to leave this on my mouth because that is what real cowboys do!" haha So cute!

The 1st day of school was finally here yet it was bittersweet... I had been waiting for this day for SO long but it was still hard to leave. I would have to say that I adjusted Real quick though! And so did Jake! He loves school... They both love school but Jared is a pro at this "1st day" thing.

I love all the little celebrations that Kindergarten has. They had a 50th & 100th day of school celebration and the kids were all so excited. The 50th day was their "Sock Hop" and all the kids came dressed up ready to boogie. They danced, played limbo, hula hoop games and had ice cream floats. What a fun day for the kids!

I love Valentines Day! It could be because "Love Is In The Air"..... OR because I love red and pink..... OR it could be because it is my sweet little boy's birthday. Not sure which but I love it.

Class parties at school this year have been a little difficult since they are always at the same time and their class rooms are on opposite sides of the school. Oh well, we make it work and I spend a little time in both rooms and the boys love it.

I can't believe how big Jared is getting! When I look at his pictures I keep telling myself that he needs to stop growing so fast. He always has an opinion too. One of which he reminded me of again on the way to school this day.

Teddy Bear Sleep Over at Grace Hartman

I love this little tradition that they do in Kindergarten. We went to the school and the kids were dressed in their pj's and brought one of their favorite teddy bears. They had a snack with their bear, wrote a note to their bear with whatever they wanted to ask them, heard a bedtime story from Mrs. Simmons and then placed the bear in their chair. The lights were turned off and Mrs. Simmons turned on some music and we left.

During the night all the teddy bears had a BIG party! The next day when the kids got to school they saw the nice BIG mess that their teddy bears had created during the night. The bears were all over the class room and it was priceless to hear Jake talk about what he "thought" happened. What a neat experience for them.

My sweet little Valentine is already 6 years old! Where has the past 5 years gone?!?!? Jake told us right before bed that he would love to wake up with balloons on his bed. haha So my sweet husband went to the store and got him 6 balloons.

And we can't forget that there is another special birthday on this day. Sweet little blue Puppy! :) Jared gave Jake this puppy on the day he was born and he has been with Jake ever since. (With the exception of when puppy went to visit his parents....AKA~ when puppy was left at Mami's and no one knew it for a several weeks. This will have to be part of my "catching up" blog post!)

Day 4 of NO School~ "Fun Times"

It's Friday 2-4-11.... and NO school again for the 4th day in a row. Who would have thought we would wake up to a winter wonderland in Texas. We all thought it would be like the rest of the week and be stuck inside the house due to all of the ice. This was a perfect day for sledding... sledding with a 4 wheeler. The kids had a blast and the adults did too! Well, except for me because I am not taking a chance with my recent foot surgery! We are so blessed to have such great neighbors! :-)

Venturing Out on Day 3 of "Snow Days" 2-3-11

We are probably crazy to venture out today in this CRAZY Texas weather, but it was for a good cause. I had a scheduled follow up dr's appt and we have to eat, right? So, why not just combine the 2 and call it a day. It took us FOREVER to get to my appt and we ended up being over an hour late. It ended up working out though because half of the patients had cancelled their appointments. The appt went great! :) I have come a long way since Dec 30th... I am starting to cringe even thinking about that day! And in order to get "caught up" on my blog then I just can't avoid it. :) Our next stop was at IHOP for a Yummy late breakfast!

Of course I didn't take my camera with us today but thanks to "modern" technology I have a camera right on my phone. I think we all do these days but I have to mention it was the camera on my phone that these pic's were taken with because they aren't the best quality. BOOO Blackberry! :(

I will have to start letting Jared take his iTouch when I don't have my camera because it takes much better pictures!

For those of you that know me.... I LOVE taking pic's of myself with my phone! :) It is ONLY because for some reason I get a HUGE kick out of laughing at myself and my silly expressions!

Little Update....
I know it has been a little while... Well, a LONG while! But thanks to my friend Amy, I have found the perfect person to do my blog makeover. My goal is to start fresh for 2011 and I know I am already behind for Jan, but I can't wait to get started again. Not sure why but I want to start fresh with the makeover! haha :-)

It is completely overwhelming because my purpose of the blog was suppose to be a keepsake for my kids and our family scrap book.

Jake was looking at our blog the other day with me and said, "WOW! That was my Batman Birthday Party!" That was 2 years ago too... The excitement alone in his voice is totally worth me catching up! I CAN do it! I CAN do it!

We went to Jon's parents last Sunday for a cookout and to catch up with some old friends. I can't believe these are the only pictures we got. It is getting harder and harder to get everyone together to stop for a picture, so if I can get one I do and if I can't.... it is not the end of the world.

The few we got are pretty cute and serve as a fun memory of the day. Gary grilled the BEST steaks, vegetables and baked potato's. Oh... and I can't remember who brought the dip but it was So good! It was a new Hidden Valley dip called fiesta ranch. YUMMY!!!

We got to visit with Jon's family, his brother & girlfriend Nicole and his sister Angela. Ron and Terry came with one of their daughters Ashley and her boyfriend. What a super cute couple! We have been friends with them for years and years. And Bruce and Cheryl were also there and we have known them for a real long time as well. It is so nice to reconnect with old friends.

And I even got an offer from Ashley for some future babysitting for Jared and Jake. WHOO HOO! :) That makes my day just saying the words.

All in all we had a wonderful afternoon with amazing people and Delicious food!!! :)

In June we celebrated Momo's birthday (Jon's grandmother) with a surprise lunch at Uncle Julio's in Allen. She had no idea that this was planned and it was a huge surprise to her.

We had a real nice turnout. Four of her five children, most of her grandchildren and several of her great-grandchildren came to celebrate this special day.

We had a great day on Father's Day except for the fact that my step dad was horribly sick, so we didn't get to see him. That was a total bummer!!! We decided that we would take him out for dinner once he got to feeling better.

Jim~ We love you so much! You are an absolute blessing to not only my mom but to myself and my family. We love you more then you will ever know and you mean the world to us!!! :)

And Happy Father's Day to my wonderful husband. I feel so lucky that you are such a fabulous husband and even a better father. Our boys think the world of you and you are such a role model for them. Thank you for everything you do and we love you so very much!

I finally convinced Jon that bike riding is fun!!! Jared, however, is not fully convinced. It might have been a better experience for him if we didn't have to stop 10 times to air up my front tire. :)

Thankfully my wonderful hubby brought the air pump or we would have been completely out of luck. LOL! I know they make the small air pumps that you can carry in your backpack, however, we had the good old fashioned air pump. Check out the 2nd picture... I just realized you can see where Jon had rigged it to his bike. :) Very funny!

Jake was with his Grandma & Popo Gary, so we headed over to White Rock Lake for a bike ride. It was an exhausting 14 miles but for the most part we had a great time. We came across this mommy duck and her babies and it was so cute. So of course, we had to stop and get some pic's.

Splash Day @ The Ark

Jake's end of year party/splash day was last week and they had so much fun. They had a blast playing in the sprinklers and then went inside for some bounce house fun. They enjoyed a picnic lunch and just had fun being kids. :)

Thank you Stacy for the beach towel. He loves it! He was so excited to finally use his new Buzz towel that he got for his birthday.

This party was bitter-sweet because it is the last school year he will be at The Ark. (Not counting sun and fun) He will be starting Pre-K at the elementary school this fall. As Jake says, he will have a "real principal". LOL! He is very excited about that. The Ark is at the church, so I don't believe they have a need for a principal. :)

Angela's Birthday

"Don't you just love tea parties?!?! Especially when it is a Long Island Ice Tea party"

A couple of weeks ago, my sister in law had a wonderful birthday party. It was a Long Island Ice Tea/Hat party. Except that Jon and I either forgot that it was a hat party or we didn't have a big hat. LOL! I am not sure Jon would have worn one anyway. I didn't even think about bringing the kids a hat either. But when their Grandma got there she had brought them the cutest hats to wear. I can't believe that I didn't get a picture of them in their hat's. urgh!! (I'm sorry Diana... That was so sweet of you to think of them)

We all had a great time and the kids really enjoyed Angela's new place. We got to meet her new room mate Carolynn and she is a sweet heart.

The old Merc building was renovated and turned into apartments. These are not normal apartments though... LOL!! At least not anything like what I have ever lived in. It is absolutely beautiful and very hip. Yes, I said Hip!! :) The view is wonderful. It is a little hard to see though since it was dark, however, the picture below of our family is up on the roof top overlooking Dallas. We will definitely need to go back this summer and get some pictures when it is light outside as it is so pretty up there.

We had such a fun time on Saturday evening at Angie and Paul's. We are so blessed to have such wonderful friends. :) The kids all get along so well and have so much fun together. One of the guy's mentioned there was a poker game going on inside and to my surprise it was Jared, Cole and a couple other of the little boys. LOL! They were so cute! Jared is hooked now. haha As soon as we got home he went and got Jon's poker chips out and wanted to play again. :)

We had such a fun time today at The Harbor. Tobie and Derek got a new jet ski and invited us to go for a ride. The kids had a blast on the jet ski and just running around playing in the water. Who would have known how much fun the harbor was going to be when they were building it?!?!? Every Thursday evening in the summer they have different bands come and perform, so stay tuned.... I think we now have standing Thursday night plans for the rest of the summer. :)

Birthday Parties- catching up

More catching up... :) Parties, parties and more parties. Jake went to a birthday party for his little friend Rowdy on the same day as our April family fun night. We didn't think we were going to get to go because he was suppose to have a t-ball game that morning and it ended up pouring the rain. So it worked out great for us and he was able to go to Rowdy's party at Chuck E Cheese. They had so much fun!

Then on Sunday we went to Sydney and Ethan's birthday party. Aunt Laura just combined their birthday's into one big party. They had 2 huge bounce houses and the kids all had a blast. I do have to admit I had a fun time too in the bounce houses. :) But when I woke up on Monday morning I sure did regret the fun I had acting like I was young again. haha My back hurt, my head hurt, my neck hurt and I could go on and on forever. :)

April Family Fun Night

Wow~ I wasn't sure if I was ever going to get this post done. Better late then never.... :) Life just gets so busy and crazy sometimes that it is hard to find time to sit, relax and blog.

We had April family fun night at our house and we had so much fun. We ordered Chiloso and it was DELICIOUS. For those of you that don't live around here, Chiloso is a little Mexican food restaurant here in Rockwall and is extremely addicting. As Jared says..."Mommy eats their chips and hot sauce every night". LOL!!! I have to admit, yes I do. When we go, I always get extra chips and sauce to snack on the rest of the week. YUMMY!!!!

It is always fun to visit with the girls, take pictures and just relax with the kiddos. They were so funny on this family fun night because we found out that they all like to dress up in costumes. :) Me being the pack rat that I am is sometimes good because Jake now has a TON of costumes from Halloween. Some are from Jared and some are from his cousins- Brennan & Dylan. Well, really his sweet Aunt Tricia seems to spoil him with costumes. :) As a matter of fact he got 2 more in the mail from her the other day. She sent him Shrek costume & another Power Ranger costume. When he opened the box and saw the Shrek mask he had had a really strange look on his face. I asked him what was wrong and he said he didn't like the mask. I told him that wasn't very nice because Aunt Tricia sent him these costumes to play with because she knows how much he likes to dress up. He goes, "Mommy~ Shrek has BIG white teeth and they scare me". I laughed so hard!!! Then later that evening he was wearing the mask. Funny huh!

Ok.... First, before looking at the attached pictures, I have to say this was just intended for FUN. So please don't get the wrong idea. This was ALL in fun!!! :)

Wendy and I went to Canton last month and found these cups and thought they would be funny for our fun night. And yes, it was my idea to add a little flavor to spice up my picture of the cups. :)

Jared was sitting with me as I was picking the pictures for my post and the first thing out of his mouth was "That is not right!!". Then on the next 4 pictures I heard, "That is definitely not right!!!" So enjoy!! :)

Weekend Ball Games

We had a full Saturday with t-ball pictures, then a t-ball game and then later in the evening a baseball game. Our morning started bright and early with Jake's t-ball pictures at 8:30 am and then his game followed. He did really good considering we had to get him up at 7:30 or so on a Saturday morning. We got some cute pictures of him this time. He was "trying" to really get into the game.

This was a pretty exciting game because we were tied until the very end and then barely lost. But it was a great game!!! Jared even got a home run at this game, so we were real proud of him. Dallas Heritage Village- Jared's Field Trip

The 2nd grade field trip this year was at the Dallas Heritage Village at Old City Park. We had never been there before and it was a real neat place to visit. They collect, preserve and teach the history of Dallas and North Central Texas representing the time period 1840-1910. With the use of historic buildings and furnishings they made it appear the same way it did back then.

The kids had such a fun time and I have to admit that the adults did as well. There were so many chaperone's that we were in real small groups and got a chance to really relax and enjoy the day. The kids had a picnic lunch as well and just had fun being kids.

~Breakfast with the Easter Bunny @ Nordstrom~

This is the 2nd year we have gone to eat breakfast with the Easter bunny at Nordstrom. We ate breakfast, the kids did an Easter egg hunt (in the kids shoe section), saw a magic show with real bunnies and got some one on one time with the Easter bunny. :) We had a really good time and were able to enjoy it with some of our best friends.

This is Wendy's daughter Leighton... Wendy and I have been friends for years and years... Since we were way little.

What a SWEET little girl!!! Oh my word... I swear she has got to be the cutest little girl ever!!! And I have to say~ what a cute outfit!!! This was her b-day present from Jake. :)

~Easter Morning~

The kids were so excited to wake up and find their Easter baskets filled with all kinds of goodies. And the Easter bunny even left them little carrot shaped notes...

We heard that if you plant jelly beans in the ground the night before Easter that they will turn into colorful lollipop's once the Easter bunny has come to your house. So..... we tried it out this year and we couldn't wait to see what would happen on Easter morning. Let me just say that in addition to it being extremely cold that it rained really hard all night long and the rain "seemed to end" very early Sunday morning. Well, the rain had not ended.... It rained again and when the boys went out in the backyard Sunday morning our colorful lollipops were plain white. There was NO color on them at all. The boys didn't even notice though. They were so excited that the jelly beans turned into lollipops. I will not say what I was thinking!!!

We took the kids to the city Easter egg hunt and they had such a fun time. They got a ton of candy and little prizes. They got to see the Easter bunny, the Culver's Ice Cream Cone character and as Jake calls it, "The Easter Clown". LOL!!! I think he only said that because the clown was making balloon animals at the Easter Egg Hunt.

What a wonderful day Easter turned out to be... We had family over to our house for a cookout and an Easter egg hunt for the kiddos. We had so much fun!

I found this yummy desert recipe on Pilsbury.com and it turned out pretty too. Jake was so excited that he was going to help me make it but he got sick on Saturday and spent the majority of the evening in bed. I promised him we will make another one sometime soon.

And a big Thank you to Uncle Rudy, Uncle Steve and Momo.... Jake loves his new Pinocchio movie. :)

Easter Surprises

Although it appears Jake got $3.00 in his Easter card.... he really didn't. :) Mame & Papa Jim are always so sweet to send the kids holiday cards and a nice little surprise for their piggy banks. For obvious reasons, the kids ALWAYS get the exact same thing from them. So, on to why it appears Jake got $3.00 from them... Well, I always forget that Sonic doesn't let you put a tip on your debit card and when I reached for my purse I saw the mail I had just gotten out of the mailbox. And there was 2 purple envelopes on top. One for each kiddo and they were from Mame and Papa Jim. I quickly grabbed Jake's envelope and discreetly opened it and paid for our food with his $10.00. I had every intention of putting another $10.00 bill in there and taping it up.... but by the time we got home I forgot and then the kids were in bed. The next day Mame called and asked if they got their cards.... I couldn't tell her right then what had happened since the kids were standing there. I looked in my purse and all I had was $8.00, so I put that in Jake's card and taped it up. Since he just turned 4 yrs old, I didn't think he would realize it wasn't the same amount as Jared's. The kids opened their cards and Jared started screaming, "I got $10.00... WHOO HOO!!!"

UGH!! That is all I have to say....

Jake said, "I got $10.00 too!! YEAH!!" Jared looked over and said, "No you didn't... You got $8.00." And then Jared got the look from me.... He got quiet real quick!! Before I knew it the kids were on the phone thanking Mame & Papa. Jake told Mame, "Thank you so much for my $8.00" Mame said, "Well Jake you should have $10.00" He kept saying, "No Mame I just have 8" It was so funny because he knew he was right and he was.... So I told mom what happened and we got a big laugh out of it. :)

The Texans- Jared's Baseball Team 1st Game

Jared is playing baseball this season for a new team.... "The Texans"

He is playing on the same team with Luke, one of his best friends. Luke and Jared are in the same class at school and played basketball together last fall. So needless to say they were both really excited to be on the same baseball team this season. It is really neat to see Jared building such good friendships because if he is anything like me then these are the friends that he will stay in contact with for the rest of his life. :) I feel so blessed to have my same little group of friends from when I was Jared's age.

Wow!! It seems like it has been forever since I did a post.... So of course what comes after that?!?!? I am so behind...blah blah blah :) Now that the complaining is over it is time for some catching up!!!

If this picture is any indication of what we have to look forward to this season, then hold on tight!!! This is Jake's 1st time to play t-ball and I am thinking he would rather be playing in the dirt then on the field. It was so cute to watch him though.

I almost forgot to add why the buckets are in the dug outs. It is a really cute idea but it appears that my child wants to use it for its real purpose...{a sand bucket} haha The coach thought it would be good for the kids to have little buckets to hold their glove, drink and hat when it is their turn to bat. The kids were able to decorate the buckets with stickers and their name etc. But... if you notice Jake's bucket was not decorated on this 1st game. He noticed right away and so did I.... Someone (not mentioning any names- hint hint AKA Daddy) did not tell me that they needed to be decorated until Jake and I noticed the other buckets right before the game started. He was bummed but I promised him we would get it done before his next practice. And we did. So I will include his bucket in my post after this Saturday's game. :)

Recent Birthday Parties

Feb & March were so busy this year with birthday parties. A couple of weekends we had 2 parties in 1 day. Wow- that makes me tired just saying it. The kids always have so much fun. :)

March Family Fun Night

Our March family fun night started with an idea that Wendy and I had to get our families together for the evening. It turned into a fun filled night with 5 families and a bunch of laughs!!! So we have now decided to make this a monthly event. April will be at our house, so stay tuned for next month's family fun night.

Everyone had a really good time at Stacy's. The kids all got along so well that us girls were able to chit chat most of the evening. The guys even enjoyed a game of poker. And at the end of the night we all enjoyed a dog chase. :) I have never seen a bunch of grown men running up and down the street over and over again chasing a dog. Stacy's dog got out when everyone was starting to leave and the chase was on... Luckily one of the guys caught her but the chase seemed to last forever.... and the kids were right there following behind their dad's. It was one of the funniest things I think I have ever seen.

We even had a little photographer for the evening... :) Erin's daughter Kodi knew all the in's and out's of my camera, so she took pictures all evening. She did such a wonderful job!!! I guess I should say it was my mother in law's camera which I am not familiar with at all. Hopefully we will have our new camera within the next week or so. I just need to stop looking and make my purchase! :)

Ranger's Bath

I have started my vacation week with a BANG!!! Updating the blog.... :) The kids and I have had a lazy morning of cartoons, poptarts and looking at pictures on the laptop in my bed. I love lazy days like this.

We came across these pictures of my attempt at bathing Ranger upstairs in the kids bathroom. Yes, I got him up the stairs after clipping him in the garage.

As you can tell, Ranger is not a small dog. He has arthritis in his hips from old age and getting hit by a car when he was less then a year old. Poor baby!

We used to live in Rowlett very close to Dalrock Road which is an extremely busy road. Ranger somehow got out of the backyard back when he was around 10 months old or so and got hit by a car on Dalrock. After a pretty major hip surgery he was on the road to recovery. He heeled pretty well and we are extremely greatful. He is such a good dog!

Jon kept telling me we just need to take him to get groomed but I wanted to do it myself. Let me just say that I will Never attempt this again. :) It was a huge task!!! I think it took us longer to clean out the bathtub and scrub it down then it did to give him a bath. :)

I promise this will be the last post related to Jake's Batman party. I just could not resist posting these fun pictures. I had a couple people ask me about the "hulk mashed potato mask", so I thought I would just make a post about it. Jake originally wanted to do a "Superhero" party because he loves playing in all of his superhero costumes. We have all of Jared's old Halloween costumes and several that have been passed down to the kids from sweet Aunt Tricia. After the Hulk picture and the big crocodile tears that followed, we decided it would just be a Batman & Robin party. :)

This was my little invention to serve as a mask. The original hulk mask never made it past its 1st Halloween. Jared had worn this same costume when he was 3 yrs old. There is nothing like taking some box mashed potato's and adding green food color to complete the look. According to Jake, it felt so yucky at the time but then when I took it off he wanted it back on....Go Figure!!!

Saturday Fun- making a pizza from scratch

This was my big bright idea for lunch this day. I had gone to the grocery store with Jake and we saw the kits to make the pizza from scratch and it sounded fun. So we were on our way to get the reset of the ingrediants and then out of there to get home and start cooking our lunch. Both boys were so excited to get to make their very own pizza including spreading out the dough and adding the sauce and toppings.

Awh- brotherly love!! They were having the best time. :) Very messy!! But boys love messy!!! haha

The Power Team- At Lakepointe Church

Jared recently finished up this last basketball season with Lakepointe Church. After the season was over they had a little celebration for the kids. The Power Team showed the kids what they were made of. Not only their physical strength but their strength for God's word. What an amazing way to minister to young children. The kids loved it!!!

I have been told lately that the best way to heal is to share your thoughts and feelings... This is my way of expressing our love as a family for a wonderful man that we truly thought the world of...

I had a post in December about Uncle Trevor and his condition. It breaks my heart to say that last week Trevor went home to be with the Lord. I am thankful that he is no longer in any pain, however, I am deeply saddened for his family left behind in pain. Please keep the Litzerman family in your thoughts and prayers. Aunt Laura is so lucky to have such wonderful friends and family to help her through this difficult time, however, she could still use all of your prayers.

I have not been able to get Uncle Trevor, Aunt Laura and the kids out of my mind. I keep picturing little Sydney rubbing the tv and kissing the tv when her daddy's picture played across the tv screen. That thought just brings me a great deal of sadness. But with loving friends and family support, she will continue to remember how much her daddy cared for and loved her and Ethan and Kaylie. If you just look at Trevor you see the happiness in his eyes and this was a true happiness for his family, his career and his friends and most of all for God. We will miss you!!!! And we love you!!!

Litzerman, Trevor Joseph FORT WORTH--Was born at the Clinton Sherman Air Force Base Oklahoma on September 20th, 1965. Trevor lost his battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia at Baylor Dallas on March 4th, 2009. Funeral Mass: 11 a.m. Monday at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, 7341 Glenview in North Richland Hills, Texas 76180. Burial: Trevor will be laid to rest with military honors at 1:30 p.m. Monday, (Lane B) in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas. Visitation: The family will receive friends 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Lucas Funeral Home, 1321 Precinct Line Road in Hurst. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Trevor's children's college education by donating to the Trevor Litzerman Fund at Legend Bank at 3001 Western Center Boulevard, Fort Worth, Texas, 76131, or to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Trevor attended schools in the Philippines and Reading, England. Trevor loved the sea and as a young boy was a Sea Scout. He graduated Richland High School in North Richland Hills, Texas in 1984. He served in the United States Navy for 14 years, last stationed in San Diego, California. His passion was law enforcement. He was a reserve deputy sheriff in Kings County, California, and a jailer with Tarrant County Sheriff's Department. After moving his family back to Fort Worth, Texas, Trevor graduated the Basic Police Officer Academy at Tarrant County College and went to work for the City of Watauga Police Department in 2005, where he was serving as a Field Training Officer at the time of his death. Trevor loved his family, and his fellow police officers, his second family. Both were there for him these past several months during his illness. Trevor's family is very grateful for those who traveled near and far to help, including the many police officers and their families who provided so much assistance. The family also appreciates all the doctors and staff of the Oncology Unit at 6 Roberts and the Blood Marrow Transplant Unit at 4 Collins. Valentine's Day & Jake's Real Birthday

This was from our wonderful Valentine's Day!!! Which is Jake's real birthday. We have started a little family tradition with the kids that on their real birthday they can pick the restaurant we eat at for dinner. Well, Jon and I get excited because we know they always want to chose Kyoto. And we all love this place. Normally they make a big deal about your birthday and take your picture with their Polaroid camera so it is an instant picture and they put it on the birthday certificate. Then you get a nice little bowl of their Green Tea Ice Cream which is wonderful. But on this Valentine's day, they decided to change a couple minor details.

1. Their camera happened to be broke....
2. They didn't have any birthday certificates.... (We could have taped our own picture to it if they had one)
3. They were not serving the Green Tea ice cream on Valentines day because they were not serving dessert at all.... hmmm What a wonderful day to decide to not serve dessert?!?! Valentines Day of all days?!?!

Thankfully we had Jake's little smash cake that he specifically ordered from Angie so that he could have it on his real birthday. She did the cutest Batman and Robin cupcakes for his party and this little smash cake for his real day.

We still had a Wonderful dinner and the kids had a blast while they were cooking our food. Maybe next time we will try the new Kyoto in Rockwall??

After our dinner we headed over to Firewheel to see Hotel for Dog's. This was another request by Jake for his special day. It was such a cute movie and he had so much fun watching it with the family.

Well... I am a little late in posting my little boys Batman Party.. Better late, then never. He was so excited when I added all these pictures last week and then I didn't complete the post. After 2 kiddo's with the flu and then I ended up with the flu myself, I got so busy and I am just now trying to get this one done. :)

Well that is life... Busy busy busy!!! Especially these days... You never know where life is going to take you, so you should take advantage of every day that you have. This is definitely something I am going to try to start doing and just paying attention to the things that really matter.... Don't sweat the small stuff!!! ***Another post in itself***

Back to the Batman party. We had such an amazing time!! Speaking of, I need to call and give a super compliment to our Batman. He did a Wonderful job! He kept the kids attention the entire time and that was a blessing in itself. This was just an awesome party and one to remember for a long time!! Thank you to all of our wonderful family and friends for making this day so special for my little angel. :)

We had such a busy day on Friday, Feb 13... It was a whirlwind! But a very fun day... I took a day of vacation and we started the day bright and early. I still had several last minute things to do for Jake's birthday party that was later in the evening. Below are a couple pictures of our day prior to his party. The 3 yr old classes put on a real cute Valentine music program this year. They all did such a good job. But you know how it is when the program is in the morning, right after school starts. They get upset if they can't leave with you to go home. I could tell Jake was starting the "I want to go home with you mommy". So my mom and I had to hurry and leave right when it was over. She had to be at the hospital shorty after for her gallbladder surgery.

Each week at Grace Hartman the 2nd grade classes have an MVP. When it is your special week, you get to make a poster that tells all about you. Then you get to have a special visitor come and eat lunch with you and they can come back to the class and do a special activity with the class.

Jon and I went to eat lunch with Jared and he was so excited. I am not sure if it was because we were eating with him or because we brought him McDonalds. :)

Jared's special guest was his Grandma and Popo Gary and their bird Early. The kids were real happy to see the bird and hear all about him. What a fun afternoon for Mrs. Baldwin's class.

I have been on a roll lately trying to get all these old picture's added to our laptop and when I saw these pic's I just had to share. I am not sure how many years ago these were taken... I am assuming they were 5 yrs ago??

Each time I look at the first picture I get teary eyed. I miss my Grandma Betty SO SO much that it is hard for me to even put my feelings into words. She was a beautiful woman inside and out. She had the biggest heart and such compassion for everyone and everything. She touched so many lives and will never be forgotten. Even though I know she will never be able to read this, I still feel like writing what is in my heart and what is on my mind. I love you so very much Grandma Betty and I can't wait for the day that we are able to meet again. My heart just aches for one last hug from her and to just hear her say I love you too.

Jared has been playing soccer now for several seasons... Actually, since he was 3 years old. He has gotten so good at soccer and just loves playing. What a change from his very 1st season when he was 3 yrs old. :) He was to little then to play for the city that we lived in, so needless to say we had a bit of a drive for him to "sit on the side of the field" normally with his chair facing away from the soccer field. I guess we were lucky in the below picture because at least he is facing the game. It is funny now to look back on this picture... At the time though we didn't think so because his aunt's, uncle's, cousin's and grandparents drove 45 minutes to see him sit in a chair. :)

You know you are behind on posting blog's when the new soccer season is approaching and you still haven't blogged about last season. And for both boys!!! But slowly I am making progress. :)

Jake played fall soccer for the YMCA which ended a couple months ago. He was on the Small Fry Soccer Team just to get familiar with everything and we ended up with a great team and season. Here are some pictures of him on the field... Enjoy!!

The day after Christmas was hard for everyone... Especially me & the kids!!! Tricia, Rocky and the boy's headed out for the long road home to Colorado. Rocky went to get Jack- their dog from his little doggie vacation and he played in the yard with the kids until they were all packed up to go. Ranger (our dog) really liked him... Heck- Ranger didn't even mind that Jack started chewing on his new candy cane bone. Of course my kiddo's were still in their pj's but that's ok, they were having fun.

My sister and her family came in from Colorado to spend Christmas with everyone and we REALLY enjoyed their visit. I can't wait for them to come back this summer... HINT HINT!!! :)

The kids had so much fun on Christmas Eve. We all went to Mom & Jim's and had a yummy dinner and opened presents. We decided to let the kids draw name's this year and Jake got Brennan and Jared got Trinity. Below are their gift's from the kids. The adults even made out pretty well. Mom & Jim were so good to us again this year... They had a special envelope for all 3 of us girl's and our spouses. Hmmm... I wonder what was inside?!?!?!

Christmas afternoon at Gary & Diana's house

We spent Christmas afternoon at Jon's parents. Grandma and Popo Gary had a mound of presents for the kids and they could not wait to jump in and starting opening them. We got to visit with Aunt Angela, Uncle Anthony, Momo, Rudy and Steve. Jon's cousin Jason was also there with us. Jason was recently accepted into the Dallas Police Academy, so he moved here from Indiana to pursue the police force. We wish him the best of luck and we are glad he is here because the boy's LOVE Jason. Jared is always talking about how funny he is.

Gary's youngest sister Laura came out and brought Sydney & Ethan as well. So that was nice to be able to see her and the kids.

Laura was able to leave and go pick her husband Trevor up from Baylor Hospital so he could enjoy Christmas with everyone. Trevor is a police officer for Watauga and was recently diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia and Bronchial Pneumonia. His illness was a complete shock to the entire family. Trevor is someone who is never even sick. He said himself that he rarely ever went to the doctor. Trevor had not been feeling well for a couple of months. He just felt run down and had been having frequent headaches. He finally went to the urgent care center and it was at that point they realized something was definitely wrong. They did all kinds of blood work and then told him that he needed to be transported to the hospital right away. Needless to say, Trevor was immediately admitted to Baylor Hospital for chemotherapy treatments. They recently found out that he will need a bone marrow transplant. Thankfully a donor has been found. Please keep Trevor and his family in your thoughts and prayers as they have a long road ahead of them. God has truly blessed this family with a donor being found so quickly.

Angela- my sister in law got me the cutest shirt. Team Jacob!! How cute- I haven't ever seen these shirts before. And for those of you that are wondering... They did not have a Team Jared shirt. Jared would probably prefer me to wear the Team Jacob shirt anyway so he doesn't get embarrassed. :)

Jake got Operation!!! He was so excited. We play it all the time and he is starting to get good at it.

WOW! Jake got a WALL E computer! He will love to sit down and pretend he has to work. Then he will start talking about his pretend boss and co-workers. It is so cute every time he does it. Except for lately he has been asking us how much money he should make per hour? How funny is that!!! And he is not even 4 yrs old yet. He concluded that he will be making $500 an hr... I am not even sure where he got that number from. :)
So needless to say, he will be doing pretty well in the future.

Both of the boys got matching shirts... Jared is holding his in this picture. They looked so cute in them!! Grandma did good getting these. She knows how I LOVE to have them in matching clothes.

I am not even sure what this game is but it is a hit at our house.... Jared and Popo Gary had seen it somewhere and Jared was just thrilled when he got it.

Here are a couple picture's of the kids from this past August. Enjoy!!!

Jared & Jake getting ready to leave for Indiana with their Grandma & Popo Gary. This was their very 1st time to ride in an airplane and they were both extremely excited. This picture is proof of their excitement. This was taken around 5:00AM the morning of their trip. They would both sleep until 10:00 in the morning if you would let them, so for us to get a picture this cute at 5:00 AM was just a miracle. They had an amazing time and were able to visit with alot of family and some family they had never even met before. My plan is to do a separate post with pictures of their trip... Key word's~ "My Plan" :)

Another baby tooth is gone! He is getting so big, so quickly.
How sweet!! It wasn't until their trip to Indiana that I realized Jake can now wear big boy size's. They never seem to have matching clothes in the toddler and big boy section, so I always just tried coordinating color's. Now I am finally able to buy matching clothes for them again. I am sure this just thrill's them!
I remember coming home this day from getting my hair done and Jon had them dressed in these guitar shirts. These shirts were screaming "Take my Picture!" So off we went in the back yard for a photo session. Fun times!!

It's apparent I am WAY behind on blogging, however, better late then never. :) Tricia and I started this tradition in December 2000 when it was just Jared and Brennan. Every year since then we have had their Christmas picture's made together. It is really neat to see how much they change each year. I can't believe this is the 8th year we have been doing it.

This year we used Sara with SDS Photography and she did a wonderful job!!! The day we went to get the picture's made it was Freezing... We really wanted some outside shot's and as you can see the kids were real troopers. Check out the waterfall in the 2nd pic. It was so cold that the water was frozen. Poor kids!! :) The things we do for picture's.

Jared's Christmas Party- 12/19/08

Our afternoon party was at Grace Hartman~ Jared's school. They had some yummy snacks and also did a craft and a book exchange. The craft was so cute and the kids had a fun time putting it together. They made a little candy cane candle with ribbon around it. It was just precious! The book exchange was fun because this year one of the mom's read a story and each time she said, "to the right or to the left" they had to follow along and send their book to the right or left. It was funny seeing the kids because after a while some had 2 books and some just had puzzled looks on their face's. :) Everyone ended up with a book though and a special treat from Mrs. Baldwin. She was so sweet to give each student a little goody bag filled with special treat's.

We started our day of holiday parties with Jake's party at The Ark... They had so much fun! They ate pizza and fruit and then and had little ice cream cup's for dessert. The kids were so excited because they got to add all kinds of sprinkles to their ice cream cup's. They did a cute little craft project and then a coloring book/crayon gift exchange. It was so neat to see them on the gift exchange because they passed the gift's around one by one and when the music stopped then the gift stopped too. That child got to open the gift and it was just precious. Here are some picture's below of the party.

My niece turned 4 years old on Dec 14 and we celebrated her birthday the day before at Gatti Town in Frisco. The kids had a blast eating pizza and playing all kinds of games. Jared even won a watch on one of the games, so he was thrilled. Trinity got so many nice gifts and seemed to have a wonderful time playing with her friends and cousin's.

I'M BACK.... Wow!!! Where has the time gone?!?! My goal was to get caught up on blogging, however, I seem to be getting further behind. So with the new year finally here and in full swing, I am going to put one of my new year's resolutions into action... So here goes!!! The blog resolution will have to come first- to get totally caught up. Then my next resolution which is to go try out this new yoga place here in Rockwall will have to come second.

We have been so busy lately I am not sure where to begin. :)

One of my dear friends Tobie got married on December 6th and it turned out beautiful. They are such a sweet couple and we wish them all the happiness in the world. Here are a couple pic's of the reception.

Ok- I really should have taken a picture of the delicious cake that we ordered from Angie but it is way to late since it is about half gone. :) This was solely to endulge on with my sister and our families since they are in from Colorado. I had heard how wonderful Angie's cakes are and we wanted to give her a try especially since I have known her for many years. We are very very happy we did. I actually referred my neighbor to her for her little boy's cake for his 1st b-day party last night. It was not only delicious, but it was so darn cute! It matched the invitation just perfectly. So if you are wanting a cake with alot of personal, then Angie is your lady.

So Thank you for the yummy dessert!! :)

Jared's Music Performance @ Grace Hartman- "Rich Man"

Yes- I am back trying to incorporate old stuff with new stuff. This took place on Nov 13. This is Jared and his music teacher on the night of his music performance. They all did so good except for I have to say that Jared did AWESOME!!!! They were chosen for the different part's and Jared was a "Rich Man". So he had to wear a suit coat, nice shirt and a tie. You know he was excited about that. NOT!!! But I do have to admit, once he got ready he said "Mom, I look pretty good." LOL!!! And of course I agreed with him because he does look so handsome.

I have been meaning to add these few pictures from Thanksgiving evening at momo's. Jake loves the camera and he will try and direct everyone where to sit, how close to sit to each other etc. It is SO funny that a 3 yr old is that into a digital camera. (I wonder what he asked Santa for this year?!?! ) The only 2 I took is the 2 that he is in. He took the rest. I have to say, he is pretty good for a little kid. :)
